Description

Deep crimson. Initial pepper spice aroma followed by wild fruits and vanilla. A rich full-bodied wine with a wonderful mix of dark cherries, plum and spice – reminiscent of Christmas cake.

This is a brambly, sappy wine, with layers of ripe plum, currant, black pepper, olive tapenade, violet and warm stone aromas. These flow through to the palate, which is powerful but taut, tightly wound with raspy tannins. It finishes on a lifted red berry note. Drink now–2027.
